Challenging Behaviors in Children
Education series for therapists and students
Behavior is a form of communication. Children may express their needs, emotions, sensory experiences, frustrations, or challenges through their behavior when they are unable to communicate them effectively in other ways. Understanding the "why" behind behavior is essential for developing meaningful and effective intervention strategies.
This section provides therapists and students with evidence-informed resources related to behavior management across home, school, and community settings. Topics include identifying underlying factors that contribute to challenging behaviors, sensory and environmental influences, positive behavior support strategies, emotional regulation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
